What is Responsive Website Design?
Responsive web design is more than just the latest buzzword in the industry. In fact, it’s been around for years now, but many businesses outside of the digital industry aren’t always on top of digital design techniques. Responsive, or adaptive, design refers to your website responding to the different screen sizes people are using to browse your website. As of 2015, mobile data eclipsed desktop usage, which means that if your site isn’t set up to render properly on a mobile device, you need to look into a mobile solution.
When you take a look at the solutions that are available for mobile devices, responsive web design is the only configuration that is recommended by Google. Mobile apps only serve a single purpose and can be expensive to change, also, as a small business, there’s not always a reason for users to download your app. Mobile versions of your website, that are separate from your main site, have to be maintained separately from your main site. They can also be expensive to develop and usually don’t have a content management system.
